It’s been 4 weeks since I burned my leg and it’s almost completely healed. I’m so glad 🙌 It’s gonna be a wicked scar but that’s ok. I’m not worried about it.

Today is the day before the weekend and we start working on food for the weekend today. It’s going to be a busy but fun weekend 😊 I love helping our friends. Our friends are worth all the pain and time we spend doing their food.

Maddi here! I’ve decided to switch from patches to injections for my HRT. I don’t like needles, but the patches haven’t been sticking well and the rashes got worse—even with rotation.

Starting Monday. My wife will help with the injections. I’m nervous, but setting fear aside my transition matters.

I’m fitting into smaller clothes and feeling more like me every day. I could go on and on—because these victories matter just as much (if not more) than the number on the scale.

This is an open letter, and I’m posting it publicly. If you’re still here and haven’t blocked me, then you can see this.

Some of you have already made it clear how you feel, telling me I need to “repent” or that I’ll “burn in hell.”

But here I am, standing in my truth.

I am not known by my old name. That is not me. And I thought you all should know this.

I never formally came out to many of you because, truthfully, I didn’t have the emotional energy to face what I already knew would come from certain family members.

The last time I came out—years before this—I saw firsthand how many of you reacted. And I knew I couldn’t go through that again.

Hi, I’m Maddison. I use she/they pronouns. I am a trans femme, a trans woman. I am valid, and every day that I continue my transition, I become happier and more myself.

I no longer rely on those harmful habits. Yes, I might enjoy a glass of wine every once in a while or use cannabis, but not as a way to cope destructively—just as something that helps with my anxiety and overall well-being.

Before transitioning, I struggled deeply with my mental health, and it was overwhelming. I used to cope in unhealthy ways, including heavy drinking and self-harm. But over these past couple of years, as I’ve transitioned, things have gotten so much better.

It saddens me to know that some people in my blood family will never understand why I’m transitioning—to be the best version of myself, to live as my happiest and most effective self.

The picture on the left is my mom. The further I get into my transition, the more I see her in myself. I know she would be proud of me today. The picture on the right is me. ❤️
