Can we take 2 secs to talk about how animation is rising dramatically atm, Ne Zha 2 crossed $2 billion at the box office, flow, an animated movie made in blender with a budget of under £3 million won best animated feature, TADC is not only a massively popular indie series but has also -

TLDR, the designs aren’t horrifically bad, people are blowing it out of proportion, animation has come a long way since the 4th film, if they wanted to fix the core issues it would be a few small tweaks, also the Tik Tok gag isn’t the best gag, the older films have far better jabs at pop culture bye

- and modelling have come a long way in that time, so it’s natural that they were going to look different as animation can have a lot more detail now, but they pushed it a bit too much with the altering of designs.

So to ‘fix it’, round out the head more, make the eyes smaller and move them apart a bit more, shrink the nose a lil and make it less pointed, and move the eyebrows a bit apart, it’s not a horrible design, people forget that the last shrek film was 15 years ago now, CG animation -

So, the main issue with shrek is that his head is too narrow, he has a very egg shaped head now when he is supposed to have a rounder head, this means everything has kinda been smooshed closer together, with the bigger eyes and nose they gave him it makes everything look off.

I just wanna talk about shrek 5 for a minute, the designs are no where near as bad as people are making it out to be, a lot of people comparing it to the original design of sonic for the movie, and no, it’s not that bad, but there are a few small issues that come together to make them look off.

The special features for wild robot have hit me with inspiration for art so it’s time to manically draw at 10 at night give me a bit

Now let’s talk looks, the day sections would have a very soft art style, with sun light lighting the cafe

But the night sections would be bathed in neon lights, dark blues and reds and purples, with a sketchy style

But there’s more. Once you successfully build a full repor with someone, whether a human or a spirit, you can ask them if they would like to date you.

This introduces the date section of the game. A section where you spend quality time with your partner, you can give them gifts, take them to places

At the end of the night section you tally up all the money you made, the money you spent, and can see a list of the patrons that came in during the day and night, seeing how your relationship with them is.

Then it repeats.

Some spirits become easily agitated, for them you have to try and calm them down, by talking, making their orders fast/correctly, if you fail to calm them, your friend knocks out the spirit, causing your repor with the spirit to go down.

The day segment ends and the night begins, with you playing a management section again, buying stranger looking ingredients, items and equipment to make the spirits orders.

You talk to them, make orders in minigames, build a repor with them, like the day sections. But there’s one small problem

The game is broken up like this,

At the start of a day you manage your cafe, buying ingredients, items and equipment to serve your customers or to make the place look nicer.

Then you server your human clients throughout the day, talking to them, building a repor, small minigames to make orders.

Here’s a fun idea I’ve got bouncing around my brain, a visual novel/dating sim, where you manage a cafe with some strange night time clients.

In the day your cafe serves people, you chat to the customers, make their orders in small minigames.

But at night, your clientele are now spirits.

Welcome to hell 2 part 1 is out and I love it so much, the animation flips between full colour, line art and rough animation, so I coloured some of the line art only shots (also did cleaner line art for it) GO WATCH IT ON YOUTUBE ITS SO GOOD
