Embrace it. It’s both exhilarating and exhausting, but always worth it

What kind of optimizations are you working on? My team has started using tag helpers recently. Interested to your tales

There are so many stories of AI β€œlying” and β€œwriting slop”, so I need to share it’s strengths

Yeah it’s not always right, but this has been a real success for me and my team

Been working on a new app at work for our bond traders. Had to rely on AI to learn the bond trading business cuz the experts in the subject are busy, ya know, trading

The bond market is incredibly complex and nuanced. I don’t think we deliver something useful to them without a learning tool like AI

About 10 years ago my dad went from lifelong conservative to straight blue. This is at 60 yrs old. He said only a few of his positions have changed. Doesn’t recognize the new conservative

This is great, thanks for sharing! Speaking of sharing, I just learned right now you can share your Copilot conversations

Preach!

I did this with my current project at work. When I explained it to others, I was met with questioning looks. Almost like it was a radical idea.

Haven’t run in two weeks because of an injury. Is this what it feels like to be full?

Appetite is way down with less activity. Not sure I like this

It’s a version where they take out parts of the story to make it shorter. The version I read took out maybe 100 pages. Still a long book, but one where you want more at the end.
If it is abridged, it usually says it on the title and publisher page

It’s one hell of a story. Don’t make the same mistake I made and read an abridged version. It’s worth all the pages

If you would have said this six weeks ago about the brewers today, I would suggested you get help

I would say less than 10x. I’m on a small team and would say LLMs let us experiment incredibly fast. We spend less time debating on theoretical scenarios and can β€œvibe code” them in minutes then throw it away after making a decision.

Could also expose candidates whose only strength is code

Go one step further and make AI an explicit requirement. It would completely change how I would conduct an interview. LeetCode would be out (finally). I feel like you could throw bigger problems at candidates. and it would be code + architecture + trade off analysis discussions.

Are you saying LLMs themselves cannot innovate or humans who use LLMs cannot innovate?

I use an LLM and have not had trouble innovating

10 years ago I was all-in for js apps. It is no longer my default. With modern CSS, SSR html + libraries to dynamically swap content I can make web sites that rival a SPA with minimal js.
