Society is so fucking effective at identifying, grooming and raping young trans girls long before they leave the closet. We are always meant to be fully disempowered sex objects absent of rights, agency, or interiority.

The construction of 'trans woman' and 'survivor of sexual assault' as mutually exclusive identities is one of the most evil, pernicious, and downright cruel developments in mainstream political discourse about us.

If you're white and have a habit of screaming about how white trans women are privileged, you should put your money where your mouth is and donate to Black trans women's fundraisers. I figure if everyone who does this chips in $20 each, those gfms will fill up in no time!

Nearly every day in the Montana House, Republicans would apologize for their votes, tell me they wish the culture war would move on, etc.

But rarely would they actually change their vote.

Article about the statement from Japanese novelists

A group of 51 Japanese novelists, including Akutagawa Prize winner Ri Kotomi, released a statement denouncing discriminating against LGBTQ people to coincide with Transgender Day of Remembrance: "Literature cannot be a party to discrimination, oppression, & exclusion."

I don't know what pressure was put on Sarah McBride to take the line she has. Or why else she made that choice.

However, without engaging in pointless abuse, I deeply regret her choice.

Compliance is not how we resist oppression.

Crucial edition. Fuck the entire Democratic Party for their silence and letting things devolve to this point. You failed McBride. You failed all of us.

They are already going to push for a national federal bathroom ban and this just greenlit the way.

This will not stop Republicans even if it makes cis people feel good.

Suicide was always a threat, a killer more subtle and persistent than the most vengeful of ghosts. It haunted our kind with a special doggedness.

And this one.

McBride deserves to be treated with respect and use the woman’s bathroom. Yet she has every right to deal with this her way. But trans people deserve better. This just shows how much the system will never treat trans folks fairly, no how much we play & succeed by its rules. We need to tear it down.
