I just got explained to me what americans mean when they say dingleberries.
I could've spent the last 5 minutes better than this.

In all honesty the best way to not lose it is to not have any in the first place.

Next on Discovery.
I just like to do horror in the most unusual times and splatterhosue is pretty unusual indeed...

Well, The Umbrella Academy was a surprise.
A story about people with superpowers but not really superheroes.
Just flawed people.
A bit like Misfits but without the changing cast after two seasons and the disappointing continuation.
Much better than that.
That's how the internet works, it's like smash bros: everyone is here!
12.11.2025 16:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You know, in hindsight, we should've known that Buster Asshole was a bad person.
12.11.2025 06:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Now this is ridiculous: Asterix Search for Dogmatix for Game Boy Color starts you with one continue and to gain more you have to do a billion minigames, plus it saves your progress only when completing a full world.
Basically destroy the pick up and play nature of the Game Boy, what a mistake.
In this era of beat'em up revivals, somehow Golden Axe hasn't gotten one.
They're all in urban settings and one made in something different and more unique would be much more fresh at the moment.
Honestly i ask about sequels to old series all the time but i understand that they're not making them because they wouldn't sell.
I just don't expect it to happen all my life, if then it happens i'm happy, that's all.
I really don't like the first 3 Mortal Kombat games.
1 is so basic and boring that it has almost nothing going on.
2 is so hard and frustrating that by the time you reach the mirror match you don't wanna play it anymore.
And 3 is just fun until you reach the endurance match and then you're toast.
You certainly should play DQM2 on the GBC, it's much better than the Joker series, even if Joker 2 is pretty good.

It's incredible that for now the game to get if you like PokΓ©mon is still Dragon Quest Monsters 2 on Game Boy Color.
I honestly haven't played anything non-PokΓ©mon that has it beat for now.
It's honestly sobering seeing the stuff that riles up people.
What we should really all be angry about is the fact that there's no Dark Cloud 3 on the horizon.
There's been a lot of portable machines since but the Gameboy line was the only time developers understood en masse that since it's portable then also the gameplay needs to be fast and loose and approachable.
Doesn't mean simple but being able to play 5 minutes and doing progress isn't coming back.
Romero is the best, i've met him once at the gamesweek a century ago and he was very much the same.
We were about to do some very stiff photos and he put our arms around us and went "this'll make for better ones"
Such a friendly, warm person.
This is it, this is the time!
Me as a clock.
"So everybody today let's all post our most wild hear me outs!"
Dania: "I wish Optimus Prime was real"
Ben: "I always wanted to touch the skin of an alligator"
Greg: "I wanna try fucking a toaster while it's on"
Greg makes everybody sober and they all go home out of shock.
Then there's interesting but miguided ideas that went on to sell to a very small niche of really grind happy people like the Metal Max series i talked about the other day.
Another notable entry is Lagrange Point, battles withing battles and your mana drains also with normal attacks...no, just no.
The problem is that most of them are generic, they try to clone Dragon Quest, that in turn cloned Ultima 3: Exodus, while having none of the nuanced gameplay systems.
Forget about charming characters or the class system.
This was a problem also on the Famicom full of generic Dragon Quest clones.
Back on RPG talk you must not forget that Dragon Quest literally rocked Japan.
Wizardry and Ultima got extremely popular in that country, to the point of companies making big sprawling Wizardry sequel as recent as last year.
Baldur's Gate 3 proves that there's no problem in turn-based systems.
Ohhh, i see, it's completely different, thanks for clearing that up.

I've heard that Legends Arceus also had lots of grinding to be able to beat the post game story.
It seems the Legends games will be more about battling while the main series keeps the old concept of catching.
Back on streaming tomorrow, in the mean time you have no idea how many RPGs i have vetted for the Super Nintendo because they just don't understand that there's a limit to grinding.
Enter Metal Max, a series where you gotta level up you, the tank and money for ammo...brutal.
No, thanks. (got it?)
It's honestly not surprising that while going through old games you can discover healthy videogame companies by the fact that they developed in multiple genres.
It should be a given at this point but many still fail to grasp this fact both devs and publishers.
The real horror is playing a game for more than an hour and then closing it without saving.
