Learning bluebook in law school made me lean slightly more towards the traditional abbreviations. But then I learned that in Washington, when citing Washington decisions in state court, you abbreviate it as "Wn." instead of "Wash." That pissed me off so much I reverted back to WA in my personal life

Also my best educational experiences were not the classes where I learned more advanced material, but the classes with a more diverse group of students and where I was encouraged to teach what I picked up quickly to the other students who were struggling

I was in a "gifted" program that reinforced race and class divides in public school and I'm glad it no longer exists
