It's been 53 days since I reported this. I've gotten communication as to why it's taking so long, but no explanation as to why it's okay to leave this block of Jackson and King dark so long. Incl. a bus stop that serves 4 lines. No temp lights. Nothing.
This is CPTED, @mayorofseattle.bsky.social?

Would love to see this energy from @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social as Harrell is cutting ribbons on all the (oftentimes very delayed) street projects later this summer. Like, weβre glad the Beacon Ave project is finished but did it really need to be delayed a year so SDOT could redo a parking study?

Southern exposure. Some of the units have walls retrofitted for window units, but I think those were unsanctioned.

Yeah, I have casement windows. There are little screens you can get to cover the opening with a portable, but felt wrong. Can't do window unit. Ceilings too low for fans.

Council Amendments to Comprehensive Plan Show Competing Priorities - PubliCola
The comprehensive plan sets rules for how Seattle develops in the future, including where the city will allow its renterβ¦
Did you know some council members want to slash development to protect homeowners, force redesigns if new housing threatens a tree of ANY size, and give the city HOA-like authority to dictate the type of siding on some houses? I read the comp plan amendments so you don't have to.

Next year, Sound Transit will be updating its System Plan, its Long Range Plan, and its Long Range Financial Plan, all within the span of a few months.
What I am saying is that it would be a good time for someone like Katie Wilson to join the Sound Transit board, from my perspective.

An image shows a person holding a smartphone that is receiving an "Unknown Caller" call. The screen is surrounded by red alert icons. Text at the top reads, "People receive more than 13 robocalls every day on average." A logo in the top right corner says "OPERATION ROBOCALL ROUNDUP."
1/2: Weβre proud to join a new national effort by the Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force. This multistate initiative cracks down on robocalls through accountability telecommunications providers.

It was sooooo bumpy. 3rd & Main is the termination point for a bunch of bus routes and a stop for many additional ones. It was bone-rattling. Also crowded, so the wider sidewalk helps.

I think it's super important to be clear on what one's values are and to have enough conviction to advocate for those values. And I think it's important to have humility as to the question of how those values are best served. A sense of certainty is often rewarded, but that doesn't mean it's good.

We Can't Have Justice For All Without Public Transit For All β Streetsblog USA
A Philadelphia lawyer makes the case for why public transit is crucial for a fair justice system.
As Philadelphiaβs SEPTA system stares down severe cuts with no state rescue in sight, the Philadelphia Bar Association is shining a light on an overlooked benefit of public transit nationwide: fostering justice for all.

I β€οΈ urbanism and value the urbanism community. But it's very white and very male (as am I) and very comfortable with expressing certainty (TBF so are NIMBYs and the car-brained). It takes active effort, but I try not to let myself be certain.
I feel uncertain as to the right CID light rail plan.
