I’m a standup comic, nurse, author, music and nature lover living in Norway.

Sault - Earth
My wife likes this one because it matches the shelf. I like it because of the great percussion. Sault released five albums on one day, so they all got a bit blurred together. None of them were bad. This one was the best, methinks.

Today’s selection:
Miles Davis and Bill Evans Complete Studio Recordings
I’m not a collector, so this is basically Kind of Blue with an extra disc. One of the greatest jazz lineups ever. It’s up for #5albums50s60s5 and will most likely get points from me.

So few votes for Beach Boys Today! It’s a masterpiece, pretty much to the level of Pet Sounds.
03.08.2025 17:29 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I actually like it more than Laughing Stock.
03.08.2025 11:36 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0No, but I’ll check it out now!
03.08.2025 08:00 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0My picks for #5albums50s60s4
United States of America (5pts)
Forever changes
Ascenseur pour l'échafaud
Beach Boys Today!
The Village Green Preservation Society
My fave is Forever Changes, but they have tons of votes already.
Lord Abore and Lady Flynn is one of the most gorgeous recordings of the last few years. Lankum are a treasure.

1) not a good time to be his gf as every song is either «I don’t love you» or «I love you so much, forget about our partners and just f&$k.»
2) we really did like Kanye back then before he was awful
Silver was on a roll in that era.

Motorpsycho - Child of the Future
The inspiration for me buying a record player and one of the first I bought. This was their goal when they decided to make this vinyl only. A noble goal, if not a bit classist. Recorded by Steve Albini.

Late night selection:
Talk Talk - The Colour of Spring
This one gets overlooked in favor of its more experimental successors, but it’s pretty out there itself, featuring exemplary pop songcraft and some dynamite organ work by Steve Winwood. The second of one of the greatest four album runs.

Today’s selection:
The Yes Album
The first of their epic trio. This one might be their most tuneful. It’s a pretty awful cover isn’t it? Anyway, I’ve been jamming to this one on weekend mornings for decades.
#vinyl #nowplaying #dailyvinyl
Today’s selection:
Motorpsycho - Roadwork Vol 1
Live is the best way to experience Motorpsycho. They change their sets every nice, jam a lot, and have an energy that doesn’t get captured on their studio stuff. Still, I don’t live listening to live music at home. It still rocks!
Maybe the best song released in the last year, but it’s so hard to put my finger on what makes it so great. It just is.
#cameronwinter
I hate it.

Prince - Sign O the Times
Not my fave Prince (I know), but @discordpod.bsky.social gave me a good excuse to pull it out with their new episode. I’ve always been a bigger fan of disc 2 that’s a bit more heavy on the Camile stuff. Wasn’t he gonna release that soon?

Today’s selection:
Black Sabbath s/t
Sabbath was more than Ozzy, but could you imagine a different singer on these early albums? What a legend! Even as a kid I loved the danger he exuded with the tippy heads off pigeons and crazy eyes. Then as a teen I fell for his music. Never caught him live. RIP
King Crimson’s Beat album with the ghost of the photographer reflected off the glossy finish.
Today’s selection:
King Crimson - Beat (Wilson/Fripp remix)
I don’t get why Discipline gets all the attention. The whole trilogy is fantastic. Fripp is as weird as ever, and Belew walks that line between avant garde and pop so well. I might like this one the best of them.

Today’s selection:
Jimmy Cliff - The Harder They Come
I used to dislike reggae, but this was one the first albums that made me crack. Full of great songs from Jimmy Cliff, The Maytals and others. A summer classic.
#vinyl #dailyvinyl #nowspinning
Side 2 is flawless.

Songs:Ohia - Magnolia Electric Company
Jason Molina and heat waves are a perfect marriage. This album is just smokey southern rock with a slamming band that would later adopt this album title as their moniker. «Farewell Transmission» is one of those all timers.
#viny #nowspinning
Seagulls and pigeons in a feeding frenzy.
The end is nigh.
16.07.2025 15:31 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0This set is odd in that it’s a reissue of the Jazz Track (1959) compilation, put under the name of his more famous soundtrack. I can’t complain as it’s more music for the money. Except I also have these tracks as extras on my Miles and Bill Evans set (so I could get Kind of Blue with extra tracks.)
15.07.2025 07:55 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Today’s Selection:
Miles - Ascenseur Pour Léchafaud
I played this recently, but wanted to give it another spin for #5albums50s60s4 This will be one of my five. A summer favorite, these dark moods fit the heat so well. It’s insane how many great lps he put out around this time. #vinyl #nowspinning
Today’s selection:
Can - Soon Over Babaluma
I don’t play this one often. If I feel like a bit of Can, there’s a good handful of better albums, but it’s still one of their best «later» albums. Damo and Macolm added so much personality that could not be filled.
#vinyl #dailyvinyl #nowspinning
Their best album. Not sure why it wasn’t as massive as the first two.
13.07.2025 07:40 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Today’s summer selection:
Love - Forever Changes
This will 100% be in my #5albums50s60s4 . What I love is that every song has an epic structure with multiple parts, but most are bite sized. Is it the greatest psych LP ever? Maybe.
#vinyl #nowplaying #dailyvinyl
Just a reminder:
There’s a large portion of the population that doesn’t like psychedelic rock. And I feel bad for them.
