It's totally incorrect to compare GW minis directly. Too many problems appeared: FOMO boxes (want 1 new hero - buy a big box of old garbage), size creep (you cannot use old Unclean one, it's invalid due to size), new units replacing old (old marines and primaris are not replaceable), etc, etc.

The problem is not AI, and not tech-teams. All tech-teams do what shareholders (not stakeholders) order them. If tech doesn't do that, they're replaced with obedient workers. Here is the root - the "business" doesn't really know or want to run business, they want simple money and no responsibility.
