Mark Mitchell was and is the Police Minister.

Mitchell also said that the PM's office had also received at least some of those emails. So was there a similar protocol in place with the PM's office to withold information from the PM and his team? If so, when did the PM become aware of it? If not, why wasn't any action taken sooner by PM?

Mark Mitchell says 36 emails were sent to his office but also that a protocol had been put in place by the Police Commissioner's office to prevent him seeing them.

I'd love a journo to ask:

1. When was the protocol put in place?
2. When did Mark Mitchell become aware of the protocol?
