Ahem!

That $66 Billion was rather well spent it seems.

Thank you Jacinda Ardern, Grant Roberston, and Dr Ashley Bloomfield.

What consulting companies is Auckland Uni working with and how much are the companies being paid? - a Official Information Act request to University of Auckland Could you please provide a list of contracts the University entered into, in 2024 and 2025, with external consulting firms; the topic of the work undertaken (e.g., strategic planning); and the total c...

Auckland Uni has responded to my OIA request re consultancy spending in 2024-2025

$600k to PWC and $500k to Nous Group for "strategic design, organisational change, transformation
services" etc

This is roughly what our whole faculty of science spent on internally funded postdocs in the same years

In past governments David Seymour would be forced to make a public apology and lose his portfolios for attacking a school principal in this way. It is a disgusting abuse of power and Luxon should have to explain why his deputy is allowed to behave in this way #nzpol

'A bit tired, a bit ratty': Heated exchange between Willis and Labour MPs at Parliament The Finance Minister has called the opposition's behaviour "unbecoming" after accusations of name-calling and conspiracy-thinking.

โ€œUnder questioning in the meeting, Willis also confirmed the government had no intention of buying offshore carbon credits to meet the 2030 Paris agreement as part of a "performative awards ceremony" even if that meant it would breach its commitment.โ€

Kinda not enough. Richer people tend to own politicians who kept rates too low for decades.

If you are rich enough to own more than 1 property, your rates % should increase for each extra 1 to cover the share for people who will probably never own 1 in the current market.

Shake up house hoarders.

Reminder that Starbucksโ€™ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

This was the widest CEO-to-Worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500.

And we're supposed to believe Starbucks can't afford to bargain a fair contract with its unionized workers?

Seymour labels principal at centre of mouldy school lunches a media 'frequent flyer' The principal has hit back saying the food is delivered daily and leftovers removed.

Seymour: let's not make "assumptions" that a serious food safety incident is the responsibility of a company with a record of food safety incidents so bad that officials strongly warned against contracting it. Maybe it was the person who reported it! What a prick. www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/christchu...

Unpopular opinion maybe? no story needs to SHOW a sex scene.

Even if it's written in an original classic sacred story, it's a choice to eg tell teen actors or anyone at all that it's their job to get naked and act out sex.

Charter School Agency reveals enrolment numbers after telling schools to keep figures under wraps The number of enrolments had been kept under wraps after the agency told the privately-run, state-funded schools not to reveal their numbers while still setting up.

Numbers are fun.

427 students at 8 charter schools is an average of 54 students per school.

$10.9 million divided by 8 charter schools is $1.362 million per school.

Or about $25.5k per student.

State schools are 9k per student.

The new integrated payments on Christchurch Metro lets you use a credit card, but you can only buy one ticket. Driver was having to give free rides to family members because there was no way to pay for them. Surprised nobody anticipated the rare scenario of buying two bus tickets.
