Wow. The Washington Post will "be writing every day in support of defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets." They're now a newspaper that would have never broken the Watergate stories. Sad.

I'm going to guess it's because to properly set the exposure for the Earth (foreground object) means that the stars are so underexposed that they're invisible in practical terms.
