more than "you should play bad games because a maligned game might be good" i would prefer if the positive contrarian dogma was "you should play games that genuinely interest you regardless of what other people think" because holy shit the former leads to a lot of turning your misery into Content

what to do so often, and especially DQ5 I never got past the childhood section because I got tired of being in the world's longest fucking tutorial of "TALK TO EVERYONE EVEN THE INVISIBLE PEOPLE" as in that LITERALLY.

Legit question: Why is Dragon Quest so good as a series? Other than the fact it brought in the age of the console RPG... I'm trying to play through them and I've yet to beat one without a walkthrough or a cheat code. The grind is unbearable, you're stuck without any clue on...
