Thank goodness all these elections (Germany, Canada, Australia) happened *after* the inauguration. Had the order been reversed, most of the West would have right/far-right governments by now 😬

A few years ago I attended a meet-and-greet with our French elected representative at La Parisienne, which I feel is quite the endorsement ☺️

A top contender in my list is Temple Pastries. Was just there last week and OMG their chocolate croissant is incredible.

And the fact that ChatGPT relies on Bing for web search doesn't really change the equation. Nobody would argue that DuckDuckGo is not a search engine, and yet they also rely on Bing.

This conversation reminds me of the dress meme. If you interpret ChatGPT as the underlying LLM, then of course it's not a search engine. If you read it as the product that OpenAI sells you for $20 a month, then yes it includes a search engine (and other capabilities).

Trump wants to cut taxes for wealthy people and corporations? We tax them back dollar for dollar.

The most frustrating part is that it is really the right time to take a big swing here in Washington, after the November initiatives were massively rejected, with DOGE being so impopular, with so many people willing to fight back locally against federal cuts.

It *will* be like this all the time. The pilot will be inevitably a success, and it's on us to make sure we don't let off the hook anyone pushing back on permanent pedestrianization.

Here's what I sent to our elected officials to voice my disappointment in seeing the legislature prioritize wealthy people and corporations over the children of our state, especially those from low-income working families.

And yes, early education includes kids 0-3. At my daughter's childcare center, the highest demand is for this age group. There are less options and less local funding than preschool/pre-K, making it hard to find open spots even if you can afford the tuition, almost impossible if you can't.

WA may gut its early preschool program for low-income families House and Senate Democrats have proposed allocating no money toward the state's preschool program for children under 3.

It's been proven again and again that early education pays for itself multiple times. It's an investment we absolutely need to make here in Washington as federal funds are drying up. Cutting programs like this is just unfathomable.
