My Top 2000 Songs #1015: Read About Seymour Music-obsessed retired lawyer, sharing a few thoughts on some choice cuts from my obscenely oversized music collection each day.

2000 Great Songs #1015: Read About Seymour. A quick 90-second riot of punk-ska quirkiness from early post-punk innovators Swell Maps; one of their more straightforward tracks, lovable despite (or because of?) its silly you-can-all-join-in simplicity.

I’d probably put “Before Hollywood” ahead of “Tallulah” but otherwise hard to disagree with your ranking.
Has to be a pretty special band that your final album is also your greatest.

We’ve been regularly spraying water over our lab retriever today to try and keep him “cool”.

A guy at Brandi Carlile on Monday told me that 39 years ago that day he’d been at Finsbury Park for the Sex Pistols’ Filthy Lucre tour.
He’d heard me say that 40 years ago today, I’d seen Jazz Butcher, REM, Green on Red & Jonathan Richman at Warwick Uni.

I shall be (quietly) chanting this as I take the dog for a swim. Album lined up as next Apple playlist addition.
