I remember being there on the day a pint of bitter went above £1 and everyone shifted to mild in protest. They ran out of mild and had to send round to the brewery for more.

I built what became the Williams Bros Brewery in Alloa and the second Porterhouse brewery outside Dublin when I was 42 - happy days. Many happy returns to you.
