@zackpolanski.bsky.social and @greenparty.org.uk surge in popularity is a huge contributor to Labourโ€™s internal conflict. The Greens have effectively proven the public demand for left-wing politics and proven Starmer was mad to shift right. The Greens have successfully pulled politics left.๐Ÿ‘

One benefit of Reform in the UK is that many of my friends are realising that itโ€™s not good enough to be passive about politics anymore. Reform may have radicalised a bunch of conservatives, but theyโ€™ve also mobilised many lefties to actually get out there. Most people recognise the genuine threat.

President Lee of South Korea just blasted the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry for spreading โ€œfake newsโ€ about millionaires leaving the country.

Sound familiar? Thatโ€™s because it was based on the same junk stats used to scare the UK public away from wealth taxes.

The daft thing is that with Proportional Representation there'd be no need for this self-destructive war within Labour. It could split into its component parts - left and right - and people could vote for what they wanted. It's only First-Past-the-Post that forces these irreconcilables together.

Reform faces police investigation over โ€˜concerned neighbourโ€™ byelection letters Material distributed in Gorton and Denton did not have legally required imprint stating it was funded by party

Reform are breaking electoral laws and theyโ€™ll keep doing it until they get punished. Theyโ€™ll accuse the government of political persecution, but they do that anyway! If they commit crime they need to be punished.

Glad to see so many countries starting to regulate social media for children, itโ€™s taken too long. It wonโ€™t be long until we do the same in the UK. After that we need to regulate it for adultsโ€”too many are being radicalised by misinformation and disinformation.

Why did only 100 people pay more than ยฃ11m in tax when the UK has 156 billionaires?

Why are some worth ยฃ10bn+ still paying less than ยฃ11m?

Sweden was once seen as a global model for equality and strong living standards. But after abolishing its wealth tax, inequality grew sharply - and the country is now increasingly viewed as a haven for the super-wealthy, while working and middle-class living standards have suffered.

Why is Rory Stewart obsessed with arguing deregulation and austerity will save us? After nearly 20 years I wouldโ€™ve thought heโ€™d have somewhat shifted his stance. Utterly detached from public opinion, despite his insistence that heโ€™s not class blind.

This requires action from the people. Even if politicians have the best interests of the people, theyโ€™ll be unable to achieve the change we need without public mobilisation and demands. Without public outcry and action, politicians will struggle to enact any urgent policy.
