Style Definition: Style is how people use cultural signals to express identity and belonging. On Twitch and TikTok, the whole “cozy streamer” vibe—soft lighting, lo-fi music, warm conversation—has become its own recognizable style. It tells you right away what kind of space you’ve stepped into.

My classmate used Drag Queens as an example of hyperreal. I noted in a reply that I can see the logic as to why Drag Queens (and Kings) could be classified as hyperreal, I added that “style” is probably more appropriate - as drag is an art not really meant to mimic or replace reality.

For a little context because I’m sure people have their assumptions and opinions. We were to provide a definition (and a modern example) for the following terms:
1. Hegemony 2. Style/Poaching 3. Hyperreal

I made a distinction between style and poaching and used Cozy Streamers as an example of style

Drag Queens and “Cozy Streamers” are two topics I never would have guessed I would talk about in a discussion board assignment for a class but here we are I guess 🤣
