Assuming we have actual fair elections, which is not at all guaranteed. We don't get to play normal politics when fascists are taking over the country. The time to do something is now.

Biden bumbled his way into the presidency because the election was right after COVID killed a bunch of people on Trump's watch. He won in spite of the Dems ineptitude, not because of it.

He's already way more similar than many people realize.

Others have said this before, but tolerance is better viewed as a social contract. If you abide by the rules then you will be tolerated. But if you break the rules, you've broken the social contract and are no longer protected by it.

It's the path of least resistance. They can claim they're biding their time because doing nothing is way easier than actually fighting fascists.
