Being able to block youtube channels is great, I love typing in a particular drama vortex phrase and then removing most of the people that pop up so I never have to look at their stupid videos!

This isn't the UI but what drives me up the wall is that the number keys just jump you to a different part of the video, I have never needed this feature and without fail I will do it on accident at the least helpful times when tabbed out or moving between my browser and another program

Like I can believe that alienation has led to this, if its true its not people being stupid its the result of removing consumer goods from the resources used to make them, I am just extremely skeptical without seeing how the questions were worded.

I just straight up don't believe this is true, I could be wrong but I couldn't find the survey and don't trust these results without getting to see the raw data. None of the other news sites link to the survey, it seems internal, but I could be wrong and wanna see!

This isn't over a recent thing, my brain just remembered something and it bugged me so I had to go and reinvestigate- also keeping it purposefully vague as I dunno how people would feel about my opinions! I want to stop caring though, it was all nonsense and still is.

I think when it bothers me most is that I notice they're still doing things with other people I like, and my brain itches for me to see if they've gotten better or simply moved on and not changed at all- its usually the latter and its disappointing, but I shouldn't expect these other people to know

I wish I had not gotten sucked into a constant drama vortex when I was younger, the memories still plague me- I don't want to care about random people who did shitty things years ago nor do I want to care if they're still doing them.

This isn't like a callout for that person or anything, I hope they're doing well, I just realized what I was doing to myself and found it unhealthy. Its hard not to feel like I'm part of the problem and not doing anything, I just don't feel I can- we need people to do this work, I can't do it here

And if someone for some reason wanted to say that some people have to in order to survive, you're not wrong- I am in that group. But sometimes your methods of engagement are limited and don't actually lead to change, sometimes you just have to hope for the best and not get sucked into misery.

I think its especially bad for comedians whose general schtick is, in some form, speaking truth to power- when you show you can be bought none of your words mean anything, any criticism just sounds like its coming from someone whose bitter they weren't given cash first

I have a hypothesis(I'm sure other people have thought this) that a lot of tech bros basically think that our world is an illusion and the AI is how you find truth or manipulate the illusion. So their AI is realer than any other human being and the world can actually be altered by their machines

The design of this actually works pretty well, it just needs to be moderated to keep out bigots and people looking to cause trouble. You have failed at this task immeasurably, and I don't want to be friends with those people or most of the people who tolerate them. Simply consider being better
