-> Absent from my setting is most torture devices. No point in sticking someone in an iron maiden when you can call in a mage to pluck the information from someone's head. That way, you get accurate info and not broken ramblings from someone who want to get out. Torture occurs, but it's rare.

It's pretty bog-standard medieval fantasy with both some earlier and later inventions thrown in the mix, just cuz I can. Also, a bit of magi-tech.
People are more aware of how diseases spread and what impacts the environment badly. They live cleanly.

Dragons exist in my books. They're not monsters to be feared and killed; my dragons are more akin to demi-gods. They're guardians of the world.
No dragons are shown on page in #Ame_NephilimWIP, but they're mentioned. I plan to show a dragon or two in #Ame_MagelingWIP, tho, but that's in the future 😊

-> Alchemy is regular chemistry, plus myths from various sources. With alchemy you can make things like health potions and strength elixir, like in a game. You can also bottle spells to use later (kind of like scrolls in D&D). Alchemists are very rare, but I have one in #Ame_MagelingWIP.

It's commonly known that all races in Gaia were created by gods. Perhaps not the current gods, but ancient ones. The races from outside of Gaia - like fairies and dragons - are more unknown, but most think they too were created by old gods.

-> For example:
In my book there's a scene early on where two guards talk to each other while Serara is present. Instead of calling them "the female guard" and "the male guard" I have them say each others name: "Help me with this guy, X" and "You ok there, Z?" Makes it more natural, imo.
