A FLOE-related protein regulates the two-dimensional to three-dimensional growth transition in the moss Physcomitrium patens Summary: The transition to 3D growth is negatively regulated by a FLOE-related protein that alters cytokinin perception and cell division processes in the moss Physcomitrium patens.

I am very excited to share my first publication from my PhD work: A FLOE-related protein regulates the two-dimensional to three-dimensional growth transition in the moss Physcomitrium patens url: journals.biologists.com/dev/article/...

Does anyone know what species caterpillar this is? We found around ten whole trees entirely encased in silk (from the base of the trunk to the tip of the branches) and thousands and thousands of caterpillars. We think it's an ermine moth but not sure. Oxford, UK @gargichaturvedi.bsky.social

New Correspondence: "Time to end the vascular plant chauvinism" rdcu.be/d38L4

The emphasis on vascular plants reveals a bias that leaves the non-vascular plants β€” the tiny, overlooked, inconspicuous plants β€” hidden in the shadows, literally.

With our new study, we engineered an orthogonal hypoxia-responsive system in plants inspired by mammalian HIF protein degradation. We demonstrated that this system could control protein stability and activity, enabling modulation of Oxygen sensing outputs. Here's how:
