Anet-sedef
eye.dl-shut
literally means ‘shut eyed,’ as in, a mouse pup born with their eyes closed. figuratively meaning ‘dumbass, idiot’ or as an offensive way to call someone ‘juvenile’
closest to ‘haber gato encerrado’ but I can’t think of the closest english one to that
24.11.2025 20:45 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0#conlangnovember Ngoaqona only has one idiom so far (redefining sentence structure a bit)
Hauki-q le-heja-mikhanileho
Tree.PL NEG-grow-summit

Was this too off-topic? maybe.
Anyway, while Ngoaqona has no true writting system and is exclusively a spoken language, for my own notes I use the latin script #basicbitch
Each word doesn’t have a 1:1 pheromone form, but rather a grouping of words (alarm, health, food, social status) which meaning is triggered when the smell is percieved. so “predator”, “pain”, “panic”, “run” is all proccessed under the grouping “alarm” 4/4
06.11.2025 14:15 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Ngoaq have a specialized olfactory system to interpret pheromones, in a similar way that our Wernicke’s Area processes written words. The brain processes this different to spoken language initally, but they are later converged in their WA equaivalent. 3/4
06.11.2025 14:14 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Pheromones aren’t the “written” form of the language, but act similar to written warnings as they can be long-lasting (marking territory, danger or food sources) and changes meanings based on chemicals / context. This isn’t language, but similar to how brain perceives 🛑 as “stop” 2/4

As Ngoaqona is solely a spoken language, instead of orthography, i’m going to talk semiotics (in the case of pheromomes). 🧵 1/4
