High Fidelity is also a huge guilty pleasure movie for me. Yes the main character is a misogynist, yes the love interest is manic pixie. But it’s a Chicago rom-com with a music geek slant with Jack Black, it checks so many boxes on the Altamira Checklist Of Shit That I Love

High Fidelity (2000) is a funny movie because it takes place in a pre-gentrification Wicker Park, and this dude’s record store is located on Milwaukee Avenue and is very unsuccessful, no customers. But if he gives it a few years, he’s gonna be loaded lol. It’s a redemption story in multiple ways.
