Working in Finance, IT and radio, but not all at the same time. Expect general grumbling, politics, pithy film reviews and more grumbling. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

I for one would gladly pay more tax to support Ukraine so that they can tell the US to get stuffed.

I binged all of season 3 tonight. Bloody hell.

Agreed… I immediately fast forwarded through the rest of the interview and now won’t see the film. It could be great, but I have zero time for rudeness and no desire to support it.

Frankie says Charlotte is a traitor. So the others knows one or other of them is a traitor. So the only sensible play is to banish them both.

This has gone horribly wrong for both Frankie and Charlotte, and made the final rather predictable.

Or am I missing something?

I know β€œthe seer” is all mysterious and classical, but how could they have passed over the chance to call it β€œClaudia’s Fringe Benefit”?! #thetraitors

A Real Pain: despite the quite high cringe/awkward levels, I really enjoyed this. Both leads were superb, and it features the most devastating and brutal delivery of the line β€œBye David” in the history of modern cinema.

Great article. As well as this horrifyingly accurate snippet, there is also some useful, practical advice.

Urgh, I’m going to have to delete Facebook as well it seems. I actually checked the source for this as it seemed so incredible, but it’s true. There are other shockers as well, not just this.

I doubt any Troll here who’s trying to smear ⁦Keir Starmer about decade-old events will be interested to read these pages from my book about his record prosecuting rape gangs. But he’s done more to bring them to justice than Farage, Yaxley-Lennon - or Musk -will ever do.

Maybe caveat β€œany politician who cannot articulate what a new an inquiry would genuinely do that was not covered by any of the previous inquiries, without wilful misrepresentation”.

Not especially pithy, and I doubt they can/will, but it closes the door on false accusations of dismissiveness.

Unfollowed two journalists today who write interesting stuff but then flood my timeline with reposted praise of said stuff. It’s tedious and tacky, stop it.

We Live in Time: β€œSo, we’ve got a decent-ish romantic comedy drama, but it’s frightfully smug and middle class, lacking in edge and the characters are borderline insufferable. What do we do?”

β€œUmm, how about a daft non-linear structure to emphasise how clever we think we are?”

β€œPerfect.”

Conclave: I really did not expect to enjoy a film about the pantomime of a papal conclave so much. It looked and sounded magnificent, Ralph Fiennes and Stanley Tucci were brilliant, the plot and script flawless. Go see it.

Anora: it feels wrong to say I enjoyed it, just as it felt wrong to laugh at some of the farcical scenes which were really pretty dark. Mikey Madison brilliant in the title role, and a really strong supporting cast too. Recommended.

Right, let’s see if I can do this more reliably in 2025….
