I should able to make it work, with episodes focusing on smaller games on a single platform, and needing less b-roll reliance and stuff.
It'll probably mean I'll become a hermit too during that April/May/June window seeing I'll only have one weekday & weekend for homework & side stuff.

Had Orientation today and it's been interesting.
The big (bad) news is that I have a packed timetable, on campus three days a week for Feb/Mar/April, going up to 4 days for May/June.
Factoring in homework & stuff, it means the next few months of Scanlines will be tough to squeeze in.

Nothing warms my heart like getting an email from the folks responsible for one of the projects you're a fan of saying thanks.

A copy of "Sky Shark" (the name Flying Shark goes by in the USA) for the Commodore 64.
The cover illustration features a naval battle, the kind you'd expect from the Pacific theatre of World War 2, with a fighter attacking a ship, with others in the background, along with some gun emplacements installed in the side of a cliff.
Pulling out this C64 copy of "Sky Shark" from the shelf for #RandomGameSaturday.
This US release is a stronger conversion than Flying Shark which got in PAL territories.
Which is no surprise tbh, as it was done by Software Creations based on the strength of their take on Bubble Bobble.

A screen capture of my racing game prototype, overlaid with some debugging information in the form of the waypoints vehicles need to pass to complete a lap.
Each of these has three points marked - a bright spot indicates the "ideal" position, while the dark ones indicate the left/right bounds of the course.
Above this is a flow map where each node point is used to guide cars towards the next waypoint.
It's still in pre-prototype territory, so having it not be 100% is fine.
There's a set of waypoints which feed into a editor script that builds a flow map to guide the cars. Most of the work has been setting up stuff to react better to avoid collisions and what not.

Need to do a pass on the courses before I do more though, so I can get them running there, but then I can look into a few things like simulating slipstreaming (which should hopefully be doable by extending the state machine) and more.

Got ~most~ of my desired AI changes in (for this point in time), and it feels way more fun to race these cars now they've got some sensing of track limits, and a simple state machine for acceleration and steering in place.
