Hour 15 of #24hrWritingSprint finally collected 5 more agents on my query list and got a query out to 1. Slow progress but progress nonetheless. There are over 600 people doing this, I think. Such a cool event. @londonwriterssalon.bsky.social @scrivenerapp.bsky.social

This query hour of the sprint was a slow slog working to find 5 more agents to query. This is why it's a task that needs a honking chunk of time. #24hrWritingSprint @londonwriterssalon.bsky.social

8th hour done. More queries sent. At that stage where I start thinking I've messed up each one immediately after hitting send. Hmmm. #24hrwritingsprint @londonwriterssalon.bsky.social

That is the 4th hour of the #24hrWritingSprint with @londonwriterssalon.bsky.social - heading to 8a in Melbourne next! Query work progressing - slow but nice to have time set aside to crank it out.

It's like the quaggas in South Africa - strikingly beautiful genetically modified zebra that look very similar to those extinct beasts, but are not in fact quagga.

Essential to remind that libraries are not just vital sources of knowledge and information but also excellent community centers devoted to under-served populations. Services for job-seekers, the blind, for senior citizens. They lend out books but also tech, cooking equipment, media players.

In 2021, McConnell successfully filibustered a Democratic CR ahead of a government shutdown and forced them to accept a clean one instead. What happened this week - a total cave on a totally partisan long-term funding bill - hasn’t happened in the 20 years I’ve covered Congress.

The headline really sanitizes what they did to this guy. Getting stripped naked, inadequate food, sleep deprivation sounds more like war on terror ear rendition than "interrogation."

This should terrify every person in this country. The use of machine learning systems to approximate an individuals views on war and then, if they are here lawfully on a visa, tag them for deportation is about as sci-fi dystopian as it gets.

β€˜Passports taken by the government’: How new State Department rule blocks trans travelers The passport ban by the State Department has left transgender, nonbinary, and intersex Americans without one of the most vital travel documents.

All of us deserve accurate IDs so we can safely travel and go about our daily lives without fear of harassment or discrimination.

The attacks on transgender people must stop.

ANYWAY, did you know there's an extension you can put on Chrome that will connect with your local library system and when you go look at a book, say on AMZ, it will tell you if that book exists in the library system and if it's available?

It's literally called Library Extension.
