That totally makes sense.

And thanks again for all the work you do!! Invaluable. Especially these days.

It’s criminal that funding for all other research has been cancelled,

Yet HHS is calling for…

Monovalent vaccines for components of MMR…?

My gosh.

It’s one thing to have more options. That’s fine.

But not when we have actual health issues to research… 🙄

Meant to add — given there would be no “practical” implications for rhinovirus testing (ie no treatment protocol specific to it / antivirals like for the flu or covid),

That’s even more reason to suspect an increasingly discretionary / selected testing of rhinovirus, no?

Please correct me if I’m mistaken in these assumptions and their potential impact on the interpretation of the graph(!)

I don’t mean to contradict anything you had said in your posts — just trying to think through it a bit / mention my first thoughts

Given that the graph is based on test positivity percentage,

Testing for Covid is much more readily available / widespread than testing for rhinovirus

And given rhinovirus is less serious than Covid, it’s probably only tested for after ruling out Covid and flu

So magnitudes are hard to compare

If you’re referring to the mRNA from vaccination, they are short lived and do not have the capability to replicate.

You’re injected with a set amount and that’s the max number of cells capable of having the ribosome ingest & convert.

And any given cell does not live forever — lifespan is short *

Republicans control every branch in Washington.

Now, Trump is openly giddy about using the shutdown to slash and burn federal resources that working Americans count on.

His shutdown, and firings, will hurt people in every part of this country.

Discussion
In this study involving 465 717 individuals, we observed an increased risk of PASC across multiple organ systems after SARS-CoV-2 reinfection, reinforcing concerns about the long-term consequences of reinfection. These findings emphasise the ongoing risk of PASC with reinfection, regardless of severity, and suggest that the risk of PASC might be cumulative with each successive infection.

I will just leave the first paragraph of the new @thelancetinfdis.bsky.social study discussion here and y'all minimizing Covid can tell me if you think it's a good idea for our kids to keep getting this virus

“We are told by leaders that we are the future. But when it comes to the ongoing pandemic, our present is being stolen right in front of our eyes.”

Incredible speech by Violet Affleck who warned about the ongoing dangers of COVID & Long Covid, & advocated for masks and clean air at the UN today!

We are now at the point where health agencies will try and restrict life-saving drugs and vaccines on a whim, with no regard for evidence or due process. These are such dangerous times.

When is the CDC director going to sign off on the ACIP Covid vaccine recommendations?

As someone currently in one of the few “prescription only” states left, the sooner the better please 🙄

2025 has been such a terrible year that I'm not holding my breath that HHS or the CDC wont change their mind(s) about approval and/or the ACIP recommendation that broadens access is actually accepted by the CDC director

Hoping for the best but bracing myself because *gestures broadly at everything*

oh my gosh, I thought the "It is the sense of the committee" verbiage was completely ridiculous too!

I thought to myself "ok, it's possible this is standard so don't call it out without checking last year's" — which I didn't care enough to

So I'm very glad you mentioned it.

Such a cruel joke.

We dodged a huge bullet then?

This is thanks to the outcry from everyone in the community and advocates like yourself.

Thank you to everyone who took this seriously and spoke out

I literally cannot listen to the ACIP meeting. I can't. It's frustrating, cringe, and just nails on a chalkboard.

Truly.

Fundamentally, the reason I avoid Covid is because all - all - of the elements of my life that bring me joy and fulfillment rest on my cardiovascular fitness and / or my cognition. I'm not going to risk a virus wrecking that, as I've seen happen to way too many people I know.

I realized this morning that it's easier to get a firearm in Georgia than it is to get a COVID vaccine.

Very disappointed in this state right now

Covid has killed ~5-6x the number of people this year as those who died in 9-11. Both are heartbreaking, ❤️‍🩹 but only one is grieved publicly. The other is barely noticed & declared over

Sadly, we could’ve had this falls vaccine configured for XFG back during the FDA strain meeting

Blah

Ty for this post though — provides good insight

It's wild to be able to more easily get a Paxlovid prescription (I know multiple telehealth services that are great for it and very reasonably priced, fast, and asynchronous) than a COVID vaccine prescription...

And the difference isn't even subtle — it's night and day.

For the record, I live in a prescription-required state and was able to get the vaccine at a CVS MinuteClinic a few days ago.

I had to pay out of pocket, and the total cost was $195

About $150 for the vaccine and $45 for the administration / clinician

In case anyone’s wondering.

We filtered smoke. We filtered asbestos. We filter water. Why the hell wouldn’t we filter the air we breathe every day?

DONT BE AN IDIOT!

Covid is still here and it’s still a biohazard and it’s still screwing with your immune system, heart and brain!!!

If SARS-2 was visible like smoke, no one would tolerate it. Clean air is not radical. It’s survival.

Oh that was a very thorough comment — thank you for linking me to it!

And @ MedCram — I just enjoy their videos. The one about this study is basically just a verbalizing of the study itself (which you already know the details of anyway)

Hope you’re feeling well these days 🤍 crazy times… 😓

@covidchronicles.bsky.social Any chance it was the MedCram video? (I’m listening to it rn while I check socials — so this might sound like a very random question..)

Anyway, I appreciate you letting me know, and I’m glad to have had the discussion in any case

The “problem” with vaccines? They so effective at preventing deaths that they create generations of people that question whether disease was a problem in the first place because they have never experienced the horrors of a world without vaccines.

So #RFKJr is a liar. He's a charlatan. @kasie.bsky.social catches him here and it's wonderful to watch. We need more of this. Do not give this man any credibility. He's a huckster with famous name and is destroying public health and science in America. Spread the word.

@covidchronicles.bsky.social Oh, rereading my first reply, I said "please relax" — so I basically did say to "calm down"

I want to acknowledge that because otherwise it's like I'm gaslighting you (insult to injury there)

I apologize for my phrasing 🤍
