I've never seen you say anything so harsh, but it is the truth. I've long suspected Fallon very purposely avoids any controversy that could upset his sponsors/audience, but in this times, he is really taking the coward's road.

This is stunning. I need to get back to that museum again. Kind of like the Louvre, it takes more that a day to see it properly.

I just found king boletes for the first time. I dried the giant one, and seared/sauteed the other two. Wow, what an rich umami flavor. First time I've eaten them ever.

They all head south in August, then the males will start returning in early spring. So they shouldn't have been hanging around in BC in October. But, they're probably more tuned in to weather and seasons than we are. Maybe this is the new normal.

These red state demonstrations and small rural town demonstrations are so indicative of the widespread rejection of Trump's plan to take apart our democracy. I love it!

Just finished Barbara Kingsolver's Unsheltered. That will probably be the last Kingsolver book I'll read. Compared to her earlier stuff, this newer stuff is too preachy. And it's not that I disagree with her world view, it's just that I don't like that the writing suffers in service to the sermon

From LA to Chicago, the feds continue their horrid practice of aiming high and directly at press. When these agencies get to uncritically claim that videotaping is violence, this is the outcome: reporters getting hit in the face with βless lethals.β Unconscionable.

Why it matters:
Boycotts and blackouts work when theyβre consistent and widespread. Every dollar withheld from these corporations is a dollar taken away from the system that exploits us.
Stay disciplined. Stay committed. Together, we hit them where it hurts most, their profits.

September Boycotts
For September, The Peopleβs Union USA is calling for a boycott of the following corporations and their affiliates. These companies fuel greed, exploit workers, and back the Tyrant's regime:
Amazon
Uber
PepsiCo
Yum! Brands (PepsiCo lifetime beverage partner)
Target

It didn't go the way I had imagined, but I learned a lot about camping on Crown Land, met some nice locals out at the campsite, and took a few nice swims in three different lakes, got to listen to loons calling out on the lakes. Maybe next summer will work out better.

I was in qathet the week before Blackberry festival. Unfortunately, I was sick when I arrived so just stayed in camp out at Lois lake. When I finally felt ok to be in public, I had one visit with Zoe and Joel, and then the smoke rolled in and I decided to bale.
