April 2: Judge drops federal corruption charges against Eric Adams. Multiple prosecutors resigned rather than carry out the apparent quid pro quo w/ Trump
May 3-12: Multiple $2100 straw donations hit Adams' campaign, which applies for public matching funds off them

FDNY helped NYPD identify a pro-Palestinian protestor using the facial recognition tech, Clearview AI β which the NYPD isnβt allowed to use. Manhattan DA used the ID to charge a hate crime.
A judge dismissed the case & warned about government surveillance:

CNN just published a big piece on Andrew Cuomo's scorched earth legal strategy, and its cost to New York taxpayers. Always nice when the national press shows up, but skip the subscription. @rosalindadams.bsky.social provided the definitive account 6 weeks ago: www.thecity.nyc/2025/06/02/c...
10.07.2025 22:21 β π 5 π 4 π¬ 1 π 1Even in that case, the consensus anti-Democratic party standard bearer would need to turn out something like 800,000 votes to win.
It is extremely extremely difficult to see this happening.
That's Mamdani's near worst case scenario.
Meanwhile, the wildly best case scenario for a rival is to force 2 of 3 (Adams, Cuomo, Sliwa) to drop out, consolidating the anti-Democratic nominee lane.
Again, highly, highly improbable.
But since 6/24, he has picked up endorsements from leading Dems including BK party chief, Rep. Espaillat, unions. Hard to see how even with a lackluster campaign, he doesn't start with a floor of 750,000 votes, which is what Adams got in 2021 in a landslide.
www.nytimes.com/2025/07/10/n...
That alone would probably be enough to win the last few general elections.
10.07.2025 21:30 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Mamdani got about 566,000 votes in the RCV, 463,000 of which were 1st place. It will be very very difficult to move those numbers significantly. Sure some people might drop off, but there's every indication his campaign will also work to further expand his base with new voters.
10.07.2025 21:30 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0First some context, total turnout in the last 4 general mayoral elections has been between 1 and 1.1 million. In the 3 elections before that, it peaked at about 1.5 million -- that's the envelope we are looking at.
10.07.2025 21:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0NYC's wealthiest financiers are launching a $20 million push to defeat Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani in November. Here's why I think that effort has no lane. π§΅
