Urgh, my bank just sent me a survey about their potential use of AI.

You can bet I filled it out immediately, checking all boxes related to "please don't put AI in my fucking bank"

I just saw the phrase "signal-shaped noise" used to describe "AI"
(aka genLLM)
and I am absolutely delighted.

I KNEW there was a reason I don't shave!

So much of why git is the standard is about all the other tools built to make up for its shortcomings. I'd love a new way forward

Hey folks, we're looking for a videographer for Write the Docs Australia (www.writethedocs.org/conf/austral...), November 20-21. The conference is online, but we need someone to handle streaming, queueing etc. Paid gig, obviously.

The more time I spend writing documentation, the more I find it's a case of the more time you have the simpler a document can be.

You write one document which you end up breaking out to a second, which then enables simplifying the first - and then leads to a third.

Which is to say it's rewarding.

Still looking for a room in a WG in Berlin for my most excellent house mate Bert. Any leads greatly appreciated, the clock is really ticking now.

The Dark is Rising is pretty old school, I enjoyed them as a kid. Not sure how it would go down nowadays though.

I had a good time at the Iron Maiden gig and all, but I don't feel that paying for it with 4 days of being in bed with the flu is really proportional.
