I think part of the trick with finding someone other than AOC / Bernie is visibility at the national level. Most folks only know one or two positions of politicians from other states. Sometimes it's positive but not enough to go on (Pritzker vs ICE), sometimes it's negative (Newsom on trans folks)

I've seen it built a few different ways, but there's a really fun cycle of play exiled cards -> get food (with ways to turn them into mana) -> make things bigger -> repeat.

Rocco, Street Chef Cost/Identity: Red, White, Green 2/4 At the beginning of your end step, each player exiles the top card of their library. Until your next end step, each player may play the card they exiled this way. Whenever a player plays a land from exile or casts a spell from exile, you put a +1/+1 counter on target creature and create a food token.

Golbez, Crystal Collector Cost: Blue, Black 1/4 Whenever an artifact you control enters, surveil 1. At the beginning of the end step, if you control four or more artifacts, return target creature card from your graveyard to your hand. Then if you control eight or more artifacts, each opponent loses life equal to that card's power.
