This was my neighbor's first bike bought new from the mid 1980s about 20 ish years before I was born
I asked if I could tinker with it to try and revive it since it's been sitting there as long as I could remember

A small personal diary thing I made a throne wishlist thing just to show my plans for the project bike https://throne.com/roccosilvestri

It's got a contact breaker point in it

No spark, no fuel, lotta stripped bolts and rusty headache
But hey at least the motor spins
My first time working on a 2 stroke, and a contact point at that
I don't really know where to start
What have I gotten myself into #motosky
11.02.2026 07:31 โ ๐ 10 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I could try eliminating the aftermarket fuel shut off valve since before it didn't have a problem with it, as for the carb the last time I checked inside changing jets, it was still decently clean
10.02.2026 12:22 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0As for the fuel, it's a gravity fed, I'm planning on getting a bigger hose since it starves after wide open for a while
10.02.2026 12:06 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'll try a standard plug for the engine when it cools down, as for the exhaust, it has a gutted muffler and a bigger elbow
10.02.2026 12:05 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Tesco on kickstand, looks way lower and longer than I thought with both wheels down
Aftermath of the oil spill because 2 of the 4 bolt holes goes into the case
Convenient at Parking #motosky
After extensive modification to the kickstand mount to fit with the half shifter, Tesco is finally easier to park quickly and as a bonus I fitted the swingarm a chain guard
Thanks to my uncle for letting me borrow the angle grinder and flap disc
I tore the engine open because the bag of bolts has been persistent and I had a gut feeling my piston was upside down, now he runs quieter but I still need to know how to properly tune the jets
I think my manifold is still leaking, mid rpm it stumbles a little even after adjusting the needle to low
The plug? Oh yeah, I was trying to do an experiment with side gapping I've heard on the internet
Might've cut too far back but it's still burning well
Quiz Time #Motosky
Alright guys I got one for you, which valve do you think is bigger and which piston cutout is wider?
Now if you put 2 and 2 together, you can see what's making that bag of bolts sound inside
(Dw I've checked the movement and everything is working as it should)
That's a good place to start, start off small where you're comfortable like changing spark plugs and oil then work up to more complicated stuff
And it seems you and Grandong have been through a lot together, having a connection with him is good
It might be best to keep it, my uncle gave me the keys to his motorcycle before going out of country and now I've named him "Tesco" and modded him that barely looks like the original

Tesco's New Look + Announcement #motosky
I had some spare black spray paint and thought I'd finally repaint the body panels and tank on Tesco, went better than I thought actually
As for the announcement, I'm now an out of school youth after dropping out of mechanical engineering from failing
It's actually the idle screw

29.01.2026 11:44 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Tesco next to a Yamaha Mio with some work done to the head
Tesco's Top Speed Update #motosky
Recently finished modding the carb putting different jets, and a bigger ported manifold, Tesco now reaches 120 km/h and still pulling, only reason I backed off is because the roads now are too short
Throttle Situation Resolved? #motosky
On another note, I managed to fit a quick throttle on Tesco, it fits great apart from the really long cable and super stiff twisting, but it does return really fast
50cc rarity #motosky
Went to my neighbor to drill new bolt holes on the manifold I got and he was working on this old thing
Malaguti Phantom F12, heard he clocked it going 160+ km/h in this dilapidated state
Throttle Cable Madness #motosky
With the old cable now being too short for the bigger carb, I've taken the throttle cable I bought a year ago that didn't fit because the inner cable was super long and used "spacers" to make due
Works great but I'll find a correct throttle cable soon
Mmm, moon dust...
I've not seen that happen before on a motorcycle so far
Because the rear wheel got shrunk by a few inches from R17 to an R14, it needs a way smaller rear sprocket than I thought, 70 km/h is already making the engine rev higher than it normally does

The long awaited top speed reveal #motosky
With the gutted housing for the stock speedometer, all the mods have resulted in a top speed of...
105 km/h because of traffic..
Time to test out the new bigger carb then
Oh Jesus that's a lot
16.01.2026 15:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I once aquaplaned the old pickup we had, water shot up to the windshield and I couldn't see a thing for like 5 seconds
16.01.2026 03:10 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Once I get back to Tesco, I will test his limit with the modded gauge since it now has the more accurate original speedometer internals, and possibly test out the new bigger carburetor
14.01.2026 19:49 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Maybe try twisting it or shaking it up and down? I've gotten a few stuck exhausts that way before
