Some ppl will never know how it was a diversity of tactics and not just peaceful marching that forced the govt to sign the civil rights bill, how much the govt actually hated MLK, and how much he felt betrayed by liberals for their inability to understand and do more.

Sadly I think this is the awakening some ppl needed to realize the things this country said it stood for were always a lie. Lies white ppl told themselves to feel better abt atrocities & lies minorities told to get through another day. Now even the lies are gone and all that’s left is cold reality.
