Philly's Vision Zero program just launched its Action Plan 2030, outlining crucial steps to achieve zero traffic fatalities. I took the pledge because I want to work together to make our city and roads safer for all. 🚲

I appreciated the chance to join @templelaw for their Coffee and Careers program yesterday afternoon. Students stopped by to learn about what a career as a housing lawyer looks like, how it brought me to City Hall, and how it has informed every aspect of my career thus far.

Education is not a playground for billionaires! I stood beside United Academics last week as they demand funding for higher education during their National Day of Action.

Emergency food providers are doing heroic work in the face of this manufactured crisis, but what we truly need is an end to this shutdown and responsible leaders who put families first.

Almost 472,000 Philadelphians rely on SNAP to put food on the table. With rising costs and the Trump administration’s reckless disregard for working families, people are being forced to make impossible choices.

Grateful to join today’s hearing alongside Council President, Councilmember and Chair Nina Ahmad, and my colleagues on the Public Health and Human Services Committee as we examine the devastating impact of the GOP-driven government shutdown on SNAP and SNAP-Ed recipients.

Today, on behalf of Council President Johnson, Councilmember Jamie Gauthier introduced an amended resolution authorizing the first-year budget for the City of Philadelphia’s HOME Plan. As Vice Chair of the Housing Committee, I want to thank Council President Johnson for championing a transparent process that centers community input, including holding a public hearing on this plan. As a lifelong housing advocate and former director of both the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations and the Fair Housing Commission, I’ve always stood for protecting our city’s low-income and marginalized residents. The HOME Plan presents us with a critical opportunity to invest in affordable housing by prioritizing programs that support renters and homeowners alike, as well as investing in the construction and preservation of deeply affordable housing. As we look at the numbers and consider how we want to allocate critical resources, we must always keep Philadelphians lived experiences with the affordable housing crisis as the most essential guiding point for our decisions. City Council has one chance to get this right. With an almost $200 million initial allocation to the plan, we have a responsibility to lead with transparency and accountability. I remain committed to working with housing stakeholders, my Council colleagues, and the Parker Administration to refine this proposal and ensure it delivers for the people of Philadelphia.

Out on the water today! I toured the ports with the International Maritime Pilots’ Association and learned how essential they are to keeping the city’s commerce flowing, as well as providing strong union jobs for so many in Philly. Thanks for having me!

With a strong legacy and bold steps toward the future, this rebrand comes at a time when we need our arts institutions front and center, and we need our communities showing up to support them

We heard from experts and advocates, and it's clear there's still a lot to be done in just a few months. With 2026 planning underway, we need to be sure to include accomodations for those in the disAbled community.

Yesterday, the Committee on People with Disabilities and Special Needs met for a hearing before 2026, assessing how our city plans to accomodate the individuals with disAbilities ahead of the historic programming taking place next year.

Private security officers deserve training that sets them up for success, wages that reflect their efforts, and resources in line with their duties. Recently, @cmthomasphl.bsky.social introduced legislation to strengthen hiring security. I stand with @32bjseiu.bsky.social!

Congrats to Reinvestment Fund on their 40th Anniversary! Reinvestment Fund has directed $500 million in financing and grants generating $1.2 billion in projects supporting Philly’s needs. I was very excited to honor them with a resolution recognizing their incredible work, here's to 40 more years!

Over the weekend, I had the honor of joining some of my colleagues to celebrate Ethiopian Day with the Ethiopian Community Association of Greater Philadelphia! Thank you for having me, it’s always a great afternoon and a day I look forward to.
