The PMA is now the PAM! Today, I attended the @philamuseum.bsky.social at the launch of their new branding. With a strong legacy and bold steps toward the future, this rebrand comes at a time when we need our arts institutions front and center, and we need our communities showing up to support them

We heard from experts and advocates, and it's clear there's still a lot to be done in just a few months. With 2026 planning underway, we need to be sure to include accomodations for those in the disAbled community.

Yesterday, the Committee on People with Disabilities and Special Needs met for a hearing before 2026, assessing how our city plans to accomodate the individuals with disAbilities ahead of the historic programming taking place next year.

Private security officers deserve training that sets them up for success, wages that reflect their efforts, and resources in line with their duties. Recently, @cmthomasphl.bsky.social introduced legislation to strengthen hiring security. I stand with @32bjseiu.bsky.social!

Congrats to Reinvestment Fund on their 40th Anniversary! Reinvestment Fund has directed $500 million in financing and grants generating $1.2 billion in projects supporting Philly’s needs. I was very excited to honor them with a resolution recognizing their incredible work, here's to 40 more years!

Over the weekend, I had the honor of joining some of my colleagues to celebrate Ethiopian Day with the Ethiopian Community Association of Greater Philadelphia! Thank you for having me, it’s always a great afternoon and a day I look forward to.

During Pride Month and throughout the rest of the summer, my office served as an art gallery for some local artists, celebrating LGBTQ+ history and queer creatives. Thank you to Arleen Olshan and Vincent Cianni for contributing, as well as the many other talented artists who joined!

Housing is a human right, but finding affordable options has been a challenge for Philadelphia. I spoke with @cityandstatepa.bsky.social about the importance of creative reuse spaces and what's next for Philly's housing crisis.

I've been a huge proponent for expanding the Open Streets Initiative as well as outdoor dining as a way for residents and tourists to experience everything the city has to offer since I joined city council.

Congrats to Vinnie Bagwell, the winning artist who will design for a statue celebrating Sadie T.M. Alexander, a Black civil rights activist and native Philadelphian who broke barriers and fought to protect civil rights. Her design will become a permanent statue installed at Thomas Paine Plaza.

On Tuesday, I was pleased to attend the unveiling of the latest from Mural Arts, We Are What We Need. This piece by Marian Bailey is a tribute to those who have shaped the community, and continue to build the future. It serves both as a mirror and love letter to the Black, femme community of Philly.

Episcopal Community Services transforms communities by empowering individuals and families to forge their own paths. I was lucky enough to tour their facilities that aim to reduce intergenerational poverty. Thanks for welcoming me and for the work you're doing!

Rain or shine, DC33 is standing tall! Today, in solidarity, my staff and I handed out supplies to those out in the humid weather. These workers have the right to strike, and I remain hopeful that all parties will return to the table and come to a fair resolution.
