I've been saying this for years, but every time someone dares suggest this you get a bunch of "OH SO YOU THINK TOKU IS CHEAP AND INFERIOR AND SILLY" responses crawling out of the woodwork.

definitely not a knock at any of these games but the thing about Haste or Rollin' Rascal or even the Spark games to an extent that makes them feel super different from most 3D Sonics is that in these games if you jump while going fast you kinda just Go? you keep all your speed and fall really slowly

Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare (2016)
This was "fine enough". Conan movie action usually nails it, but the finale wasn't my bag for whatever reason. Beyond my Amuro dislike, I also didn't like how passive Ai was in this.
As usual though, the BO (and CuraΓ§ao here) save most of it for me π

Flow (2024)
I meant to get to this one during Academy season, better late than never. It does a great job injecting so much personality to the slightest movements & expressions, it's impossible to not get attached to someone in this.
A current day "Brave Toaster" in many aspects imo!
Screenshot from Rokka -Braves of the Six Flowers-. Adlet (left) holds up Fremy's (right) arm, showing the Brave crest on the back of her hand to Nashetania and Goldof.
Rokka -Braves of the Six Flowers- (2015)
The synopsis for this had me with lots of hope but each episode was a downward spiral. "Fantasy mystery about the potential heroes of the world" sounded great, but the show/LN seems far less interested in a good mystery than plodding pace and bad romance.
Screenshot from Tetrachroma. The player hard drops a piece into their stack, close to causing a large line clear.
Tetrachroma (2024)
Still playing this, but my only issue with this is that I spent too much time playing it to sing its praises here.
Tetrachroma rules. It is the best, most gratifying twist on Tetris I've played in years and it's only $5. Please give the demo a shot, I beg of you.

Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025)
It's fine? It's fine. It's alright I guess.
Constantly went through this thinking "I could just be watching Kong: Skull Island instead", but it still has its moments and keeps up the blockbuster energy throughout. D-Rex is the worst fucking flagship dino yet tho.

Spilled (2025)
Short, sweet, great message. It's a fun experience but doesn't feel like something that you'd go back to replay or perfect in any way. That said, it's still worth the entry price and something I'd recommend if you're curious - especially since it's donating some of its proceeds.
You have at least some hope of making a majority of the population smarter than rocks but there is no getting rid of dumb authoritarians once they are in power except through violent upheaval. To quote my favorite fictional character of all time:

Camera set shot from F1. Brad Pitt (middle) and Damson Idris (right) point into the distance, as Brad talks to someone on the film set.
F1 (2025)
This was so good, except for one thing - I love Brad Pitt, but his character is frustrating as hell & too much of a mary sue. Sometimes that can be whatever, but here it only makes the rest of the characters look bumbling in ways they shouldn't.
Everything else? Fucking ace tho
Panel from 80's Video Trip. Naoto, while watching old videos of his parents' youth, looks at them smile at each other while nearby a pier.
80's Video Trip (2019)
A one-shot I finished that I wanted to call out! The story's adorable for the length it has, but more importantly I love the art on display here!
Taking slight direction from Suzuki Einzin and Seizou Watase's art is such a fun way to sell the era alongside the current.
Screenshot from Friendship. Craig (Tim Robinson, left) and Austin (Paul Rudd, right) chat in a forest, while Austin shows him a mushroom he plucked from the ground.
Friendship (2024)
I loved this but boy does Tim Robinson continue to be an acquired taste. You either know you'll love this (and have already seen it) or don't.
The humor's more third-person embarrassment than anything else, so imagine a more nonsensical "How To w/ John Wilson" if anything?

Pokemon Origins (2013)
Dragonite & the Special Delivery (2025)
Wanted to rewatch Origins to see if it was still good - and it is! Not amazing writing, but nailing the excitement of playing RBG is the goal anyway!
The Dragonite short was also great too! Short, touching and a really charming story.
Screenshot from Go! Go! Loser Ranger! Season 2. Kanon (left) lightly headbutts Fighter D, as they make a plan to stop Yakushi.
Go Go Loser Ranger S2 (2025)
I didn't like S1 to begin with, so boy did the incredibly rushed pace and messy character writing in this season not help at ALL.
Fighter D continues to be a fun character as a whole, but every twist and turn surrounding the main plot got me less and less invested.
Screenshot from Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Mario runs through one of the early levels in a game while a Wonder Seed is active. Due to the Wonder Seed, multiple pipes are moving in weird ways, such as spouting water and inching along like worms, and a large spotlight is shining above on Mario and other objects.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder (2023)
Started this in Dec. '23 and just fell off for a year and a half. Not sure why, this definitely would be up there as far as my top 3 Mario games.
The Wonder events don't hold up as much on replays I imagine, but the the game's control and feel is so perfect.
Screenshot from mono. Sakurako (left), Satsuki (middle) and An ride a lift up a mountain through some trees. The view is from Satsuki's 360 camera, as everyone poses for it. Sakurako is also holding a ice cream cone as well.
Mono (2025)
I was worried after Yuru Camp S3 this may fall a bit flat for me but nope. So much fun with a ton of sight gags each episode. It definitely reminded me why I enjoyed Yuru Camp's first season so much.
I don't get why they pretend it's about a camera/film club but sure whatever
Screenshot of Kowloon Generic Romance. Hajime (left) and Reiko talk to each other while smoking on top of a rooftop.
Kowloon Generic Romance (2025)
This one is so depressing for me. Not sure why they decided to adapt this now, they clearly didn't have a game plan for giving it the pacing and time it needs - especially when the source isn't even finished.
Read the manga, this misses a lot of its magic imo.
Screenshot from The Wonderful World of Puss n' Boots. Pero stares off at Daniel & Lemone get shooed away by a guard, as Pierre is fitted into royal garb while talking to the King and Princess Rose.
The Wonderful World of Puss N' Boots (1969)
Been wanting to see more pre-80's stuff let alone anime, so finally got around to this!
A fun classic fantasy adventure with tons of humor and a great English dub as well! Kinda nice to see a time when JP and US animation were much akin to each other too
Screenshot from Detective Conan: Zero's Tea Time. Tooru Amuro/Furuya Rei staring in the distance after finishing a ninja obstacle course.
Detective Conan: Zero's Tea Time (2022)
So, I will ultimately mention before starting this: I do not like Amuro. I think the Police Academy story is rather sweet and there's elements of his character that are interesting - but he is so fucking bland.
That said, cute SoL series! Fine enough ig.
