Tell y'all what, sometimes the best teacher for how good movies work is a movie that should be good but somehow isn't.
Honestly might be my favorite kind of review to write because I just figure so much out along the way.

Voracious reader of novels in a variety of genres. Science nerd. Have I told you today about my favorite book series Doomsday Recon by Ryan Williamson? No? Just wait, I will.

Staying unemotional is hard.
The researchers I know take breaks to deal with the emotions because the work is too important to quit.
So, just like a regular human assistant sent from the pool.

However, I'm working on being more generous and patient.
We'll see how long that lasts.
So many thoughts come to mind.
The most generous is related to prioritizing of scarce resources to improve all aspects of the experience.
The least generous, well, I don't need to list those for you. You know.
I tease @rywilwrite.bsky.social (author of the piece) that, like Epasotl in his book Born in Battle,
โAm sad, but happy. Happy-sad. You always make me ugly cry. Much shame. I hate you.โ
because the language he uses makes the characters' reality my reality and I do ugly cry sometimes.
Language shapes how we think and even what thoughts we can have

I am absolutely flabbergasted that people order books described as "like new" and get ex-library books and books missing dust jackets.
Is that just expected now?
Because when I say Fine, I mean FIIIIIINE.

The core problem isnโt that AI feedback is obviously badโif it were obviously bad, no one would follow it. The problem is that itโs plausibly good in ways that can be indistinguishable from actually good without professional judgment as a check.
