I know what you mean, though this is more asphyxiation than shelter.

Yeah I don’t get it. β€œI paid a ton of money to get hauled up a rope by people who are actually good at these things and waited in line with lots of similar people and then my brain cells died and I walked past corpses. Achievement unlocked!”

You could try Paris, you know. Better food.

I’m sorry. I hope the cat distribution system has made note of your needs and one will appear at the right time.

Medievalists and early modernists ahoy! 🚨

Our librarians are surveying the oldest books in the Library Special Collections and have found an intriguing endpaper bound into this 1516 edition of the Decretum Gratiani.

Do YOU recognise this heavily abbreviated Latin scrap?

The stove I made in pottery turned out so well, I wasn't allowed to share it unless I took a proper photo. So here we are πŸ₯°

It’s easy to get there from London though. Everything is comparatively small.

I have a childhood memory of going there and that there were all these jugs of Thomas Becket’s blood in the place of his martyrdom.

I appear to have made this up out of whole cloth.

I have a decade+ starter that I keep going and then I do a preferment the night before. Takes about 48-60 hours start to finish but it’s very little active time.

Excruciating library conversation in the rear-view mirror. Many thoughts but I want to get a bit further to see how it all connects in my head.

Eh. I see it through the lens of PT Barnum: if you want to be a sucker, and the spectacle makes you happy, and you like your ashtray diamonds, go be you.

Isn’t the point of a diamond that light refraction? So I just don’t get it. Light goes into a brown diamond to die, and a black diamond? Tip o’ the hat to the folks who figured out the marketing though.

Also I don’t understand black diamonds. What is the point?

Is there room on the hill for me? I hate them. A nice yellow fancy is fine: brown is terrible.
