I'm not sure how we're supposed to know who is and isn't legitimate when they're all charging us for just a chance like this. It's all pretty gross now.

There have always been scammers on the representation side of film, but these companies have legitimized these predatory practices.

Reps have never really had to go looking for talent, but now we're expected to pay them for basic interactions that just 5 years ago was a general query.

This may be a spicy hot take that could get me into trouble, but I think part of what's killing the film industry are sites like Roadmap Writers.

Remember a few years ago, the rule was "never pay for a read."

Sometimes you can work backwards from a scene. Figure out all the paths to that point. It's like writing on hard mode, but it can work!

Coverfly's scoring system has always confused me. One year, a Nicholl's placement boosted my script to the top 5% & TRL, and the next year, Nicholl's hardly moved the needle.

But on ISA's listing, it says "featured on the Red List, *or* Top 25% or higher"-- You're good!
