By taking over school boards, the Ford gov't is shutting parents and communities out of decisions that impact their kids’ futures.

Today, I stood with teaching unions, trustees, and parents — united in one clear message: our schools need real investment, not more power grabs and political games.

I was a school board trustee — even then, it was frustrating with the province controlling the purse strings. Now the Ford gov't is cutting parents out, taking over boards, and silencing local voices.

The people did not give this premier a mandate to suspend all laws or to toss out their constitutional laws.

But that's what Bill 5 does.
