This past week I was part of a 12 person team of @kaboom-play.bsky.social staff that worked across the state of Minnesota to identify playgrounds in need of replacement on or near tribal and indigenous lands.

Saw amazing playgrounds and ones that were probably older than me.

I need to know the distance from home plate to the soccer goal.

As a former LAYC employee (which is where I met my wife!) and a @washingtonspirit.com season ticket holder, this one is special to me.

But I can’t make this game! My som has his game at the exact same time. Need to figure out a workaround to get these shirts!

My decision to cancel my season tickets after 17 seasons is looking better by the day.

This decision making right here is exactly why I cancelled my season tickets after having them for 17 seasons. There is no positive path forward. No thinking that they have to get better.

The age of the game playground matters. As you would expect, newer playgrounds get more visitors to parks than older playgrounds.

Every year of playground age results in about 600 visitors a year.

I do like the idea of coin tests. Easy for people to understand, and I can even play around with it during an in-person presentation setting. Or I can get audience members to flip their own coins and talk about probabilities of unlikely events.

Hello #stats, #math, and #evaluation friends. Anyone have good examples of how to describe / talk about statistical significance to non-technical audiences?
