This is an absolutely inane comment. They don't have unlimited budget, they still have to be commissioned to provide a service at an agreed cost....by an NHS commissioner.

The stories not collected as data though- unsure of providence, denominator comparators or opportunity costs. We need better analysis than this before making some very big decisions.

For hospital generated images, if there is concern on the image, the report is sent to primary care immediately. This makes it immediately available via the NHS app.

I'm not sure we can put the genie back in the box. Full early access to test results/reports is generally good for most- most results are reassuring. How do we help those that aren't so lucky? Manually checking and issuing is not feasible. Delaying issuing is also risky if it delays comms to GP.

This is a deeply depressing article. Change and innovation thrive in a culture which gives people the tools they need to do the job & supports positive risk-taking. If your hospital is inefficient because the ceiling is falling in or the IT is ancient, cutting the tariff won't drive improvements.

Wes Streeting: there is overdiagnosis of mental health conditions
Health secretary says too many people are being βwritten offβ and that is driving ministersβ changes to welfare
www.theguardian.com/politics/202... very disappointing rhetoric. The only person making the diagnosis is the person talking to the patient, based on their understanding of ICD-11. Whether we have the *implication* of that diagnosis is right is another matter (that's what I think he means)

We took the kids (teens) to see Oklahoma! in the Young Vic, and got lots of trigger warnings from literally every single member of staff as we made our way to our seats. It was quite an edgy production, but it felt very strange and definitely unsettled us all!
