I’ve been this poor. I still use the food bank. I also worked at a grocery store as a cook, and the amount of food thrown away could have fed half the town. The way we manage food and deny it to people is the clearest indicator of the failure of late stage capitalism. No one has to be hungry.

It would help to have a National Day of Action re: SNAP - perhaps on November 1. It would take rapid response but houses of worship could take the lead in mobilizing their members. Educate everyone about the cuts, encourage local donations, pressure Congress, etc...
