Reseearch just found those living near a golf course groundwater supply have 2x the odds of developing Parkinson’s disease. 😳 β€œThe drinking water will be piped to a series of dirt basins beside the Hansen Dam Golf Course, then percolate into the soil and replenish groundwater before pumping out.β€œ 🌱

As NW faces rolling blackouts, study says renewable energy may not be enough The greater Northwest region could experience a 9-gigawatt energy gap by 2030, or about the same amount of power consumed by Oregon. That could lead to rolling blackouts during extreme weather events ...

Looks like the Pacific Northwest will fall 3 GW short of what’s needed, with a perfect storm of demand versus capacity

Humor value aside, I do think winning this prize is very important to him. He was vying for it in his first term when he had talks in North Korea.

A white owl in flight against a bright white background. The bird has its wings fully extended, displaying the detailed pattern of its feathers with subtle brown markings across its white plumage. The owl has distinctive bright yellow eyes and is captured mid-flight from a side angle, showing its streamlined body and the impressive wingspan. The light coloration of the bird creates a striking silhouette against the minimalist background, emphasizing the graceful form and intricate feather patterns of this predatory bird.

A photo from my archives of our last Snowy Owl irruption of 2012. We haven't had a big irruption since, which is probably for the best. I'm afraid of the impacts on these birds if we were to have another one now.
