radical take here but i think that running out of money shouldnt put you in absolute misery actually.

Running out of money at worst should make you unable to buy luxuries. You cant buy a TV, gaming PC, whatever.

For me-when I was young, I imagined some perfect form of me into being. I projected that perfect bar onto others, internalizing heroes in fiction, and assessing my worth against it. I did this as a defense, to train myself, to meet my dad’s expectations. I am sorry you are having similar feels.

Prices could benefit from increased regulation of cheap crap. The $100, gazillion K super TV is going to break in 2 months and cost $500 to repair. Same with the TV stand from Walmart it sits on. And the area rug under the stand. Make obsolescence harshly regulated.

Have you seen some of those guys? It’s like they have no physical readiness standards. In the 90s bro did dispatch for 911. We had cops at our parents’ house for his birthdays. They all had training time and routine fitness tests (run a mile, pick up a weighted dummy and climb stairs etc). SMH
