If you're among the 2000+ authors citing research evaluated by Unjournal.org, go to unjournal.pubpub.org to learn how commissioned experts rated & assessed that research.

Top 'citers of unjournal-evaluated research': https://bit.ly/3WRHc8W include Esther Duflo, Julian Jamison, & Berk Γ–zler

I love what #SciPost does & their narrative.
Much agrees w/ Unjournal.org practices.

Some differences (Us/Them)
1. Quant. ratings vs accept/reject
2. Publish all evaluations vs. only if β€˜accepted’
3. Fields & applied focus
4. We pay evaluators
5. We don’t 'publish' papers, just evaluations

Love Brian Nosek's response to my Q on "fear of negative public evaluations" @ Unjournal & Lifecyclejournal

I agree, they are trying. You can see this in the hearings. But they have limited tools at their disposal.

Rethink Priorities 2022 research: β€œForecasts estimate limited cultured meat production throughΒ 2050β€œ.

Unjournal 2025 evaluators: The forecasts and the report were too pessimistic.
Manheim: cultured meat is likely to be commercially viable soon.

Pose: By now you should know which one is Pop by the process of elimination. But in case you missed one of the other two, think of how he poses: as ifin a parade. And a 'pose' is like a role (of a drum core leader). Also "Pop" starts with the same letter as "Parade". So Pop is the parade hat guy.

Clothes: That reminds you what the clue is for Crackle. He wears a piece of clothing known as a cap (and a cap is the same first letter as Crackle, by the way, so there's another clue.)

It doesn't tell you directly which one is Snap, Crackle or Pop, but it gives you the _clues you need_.

Sound: Think of the "snapping" sound, and picture a chef snapping his fingers when a dish is ready. Snap is the chef!

Having trouble remembering which one is Snap, Crackle, or Pop? I developed a mneumonic system called "Sound-Clothes-Pose" (SCP).

That's what it certainly has looked like, but I think that LLMs are certainly making the debugging easier, which in turn makes the data cleaning easier.

I think pie charts get too much hate. Yeah, maybe they have some constraints with the way they're ordered ... but the brain just eats them up nicely.

Exec. Order 14169β€”'cancelled ~80% percent of USAID’s contracts'/ ~$60 billion. But the allocations must still be spent unless Congress explicitly rescinds it all.

See: Antideficiency Act, Impoundment Control Act

This is NOT a done deal. @thelancet.com's study assumes USAID is cut to 0.

Congress clawed back 9.4 billion; ~50 billion remains that the State Dept. must obligate to line-items Congress specified, such as #PEPFAR.

We should _fight_ for this, not let people die to use as a talking point.

Technically, nearly everything is reversible, I believe. Congress can decide to change it next year if they like, including any tax cuts.

That's why I don't understand when people say ~'this is the biggest thing ever'.

Did Charlie Brown football kick attempts (cartoon strip) occur during the US football season? Yes they did. At least ChatGPT 04 mini high's analysis is pretty clear. I haven't checked the raw data though. 41 attempts, all in-season.

Williams et al (2024, Nature) model the biophysical potential for forest regeneration. Both Unjournal.org evaluators agree: methodological concerns fundamentally challenge the validity/utility of the modeling & the 215 Mha estimate.
