New statistics out this week show that over 40,000 people in Scottish Borders received free NHS eye examinations in 2024/25 β thanks to Scotland being the only nation in the UK offering universal eye tests under the SNP Government.
New statistics out this week show that over 61,000 people in Dumfries & Galloway received free NHS eye examinations in 2024/25 β thanks to Scotland being the only nation in the UK offering universal eye tests under the SNP Government.
Free eye tests - made free by the SNP - are saving over 2.4 million people across Scotland money every single year β and helping identify sight-threatening conditions earlier, allowing quicker intervention and treatment.

New stats from Social Security Scotland show the difference the Scottish Government Winter Heating Payment has made across the South.
In D&G, 13,395 people benefited, while in Scottish Borders 8,100 received a payment. That's a total of Β£1.26 million directly into bank accounts last winter alone.
