Edinburgh City Council says its education department IT systems have been disrupted by an attempted cyber attack which forced it to reset all network passwords including those of students, leaving pupils studying for exams without access to online resources unless they visit their schools tomorrow.

The Jackdaw oil platform towers 40m above the ground at the Aker fabrication yard in Verdal, Norway.
