What I'm intrigued by is whether that works the other way -- since American politics to me seems like a delusional 2 year election campaigns resulting in exactly the same closed class of people being elected.

That used to be such a clean station... the big plant next to it used to make washing powder and every now and then it would snow soap onto the station below.

The problem with YouTubers commenting/reacting to TV culture is... I don't have a TV, and so don't partake in this canned collective culture! (as in Truffaut's 'Fahrenheit 451', I am a book person).

However, I look forward to watching this with bemused curiosity to see what all the fuss was about!

Is that any different to George Monbiot or Jonathon Porritt? The British environmental movement represents elite views because that's who staffs it, and so it will never create a mass appeal to back real change.

If you want a "normal", middle class/consumer lifestyle that is true. However, drop those totemic identities and accept a 'radically' different lifestyle and there are always independent alternatives; because 'the system' ignores/excludes those it cannot economically exploit.
