Well, not really. Russia has a written constitution. It enumerates a strong independent judiciary. How's that working out for them?

Wasn't Wutundjeri Way always an alternative to King or Spencer St? Where have they extended it to?

Agreed. Trent's feed is one of several I miss since departing Ex-Twitter at the beginning of this year.

Remote working is here to stay. Employers who insist on unnecessary office attendance will simply lose their best people to employers who don't.

I was reading about an AI that was given the brief to minimise the energy consumption of a dwelling. It concluded the main cause of energy consumption was the occupants, who kept turning on lights and using appliances and things, so it killed them.

A recurring theme from establishment centrists seems to be that supporting X (whatever X might be this week) is irrational, such that nobody who was in possession of the facts could possibly support it. Therefore if you support X you must have been lied to etc etc. Quite patronising on one level.

And I see that they did in the end bring Mr Garcia back to the US, in line with the order of Xinis J (and SCOTUS). Good.

I did, but couldn't find any recent reports on the contempt side of it.

That's a different case, isn't it? What happened with the contempt proceedings in the 'turn that plane around' case?

@marcelias.bsky.social What happened with the contempt proceedings before Boasberg CJ and Xinis J? I can't find any recent reports on their status.

It sounds like his objection is more to the volume of construction traffic coming through his village (and quite right too - to the extent possible, that traffic should be required to avoid residential areas - planning permissions often include such conditions although enforcement is minimal).

I find it useful as a starting point - identifying case law I should look at. But never cite anything AI comes up with without digging out and reading the case itself.
